



Eddie Boggs was born and raised in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. During his teen years, the
family moved to Mansfield, Ohio.
Eddie began performing in the Toledo, Ohio area in 1972. He performed each summer for over 20
years at Put-In-Bay, one of Ohio's most popular vacation spots.
Eddie's music career has allowed him to be an opening act for such performers as Lee Greenwood,
Tom. T. Hall, Ralph Stanley, Blood, Sweat & Tears, and The Mamas and Papas.
In addition to his public and private performances, Eddie has recorded five albums, written a
children's book, and a full length musical. He hosted a young people's program and specials for
Toledo area television stations. He co-hosted the Northwest Ohio's Easter Seal Telethon for 10
years, and has made numerous appearances on local radio and television. Eddie has written well
over 100 songs, jingles and promos for media and corporate clients. His promo, "Keep Jeep In
Toledo", aired on area radio and television stations, was considered to be one of the motivating factors for
Chrysler's decision to keep the new Jeep plant in Toledo. Eddie received special recognition from Toledo's City Government for his
contribution.
Eddie has produced numerous concerts, featuring not only his talents, but those of other area performers and nationally known stars
such as Randy Sparks' world famous New Christy Minstrels. His holiday shows have raised over $250, 000.00 for local charities. In
1997, he created and produced the Lake Erie West People's Choice Awards to honor area performing artists. Eddie also founded the
Lake ErieWest Performing Arts Hall of Fame, which opened in the SeaGate Centre in downtown Toledo, Ohio in 1998, which
recognizes those born or raised in NW Ohio and SE Michigan who have gained significant recognition in the performing arts. Inductees
include such greats as Danny Thomas, Art Tatum and Jamie Farr.
He received his higher education at Ohio State University, earning a Bachelor's degree in Education. In 1972, Eddie moved to Toledo
to work on the first of his two Masters degrees. In 2007, Eddie retired after 37 years as a teacher and school counselor, most recently
at Timberstone Jr. High School in Sylvania, Ohio. After retiring, he taught at the University of Toledo and currently serves as a licensed
tour guide in Washington D.C., along with operating his own tour company, American City Tours, which specializes in trips to D.C.,
NYC, Gettysburg, and Chicago.
Eddie currently performs throughout the United States as a member of Randy Sparks' world famous New Christy Minstrels. Dreams do
